How to Volunteer

Each of us have special God-given talents! We are always in need of volunteers to support our students, staff, and school.  We welcome you to call the school office at 419.222.0431 anytime of the year or use the “Contact Us” form if you are looking for volunteer opportunities.

Per the Office of Child & Youth Protection and Victim Assistance, any volunteer that works with students in the classroom/school must be in compliance with the diocesan requirements. These are as follows and need renewal every 5 years

  • Background Check – a social security number search completed through the VIRTUS platform. A $25 fee paid by credit card. There may be additional charges if you have lived outside of Ohio in the last 5 years.
  • Expectation Form – acknowledged electronically through the VIRTUS platform
  • Protecting Youth Course – Protecting God’s Children through the VIRTUS platform or attend a live workshop

If you are employed by the Diocese of Toledo in any of its entities (e.g. Parish, School or other institution) you are required to be compliant within the bounds of your employment. Please check with your entity’s Local Compliance Officer (Marta Truex).

If you have previously completed a Protecting Youth course or a background check, you may already have an account in VIRTUS. If you think you may have an account, check with your Parish’s Local Compliance Officer (Marta Truex) or Mary Pat Smith, Safe Environment Compliance Coordinator, at the Pastoral Center before you set up an account.

If you do not have a VIRTUS account, you will need to set one up. Click on the appropriate link below

These links will lead you through the process of acknowledging the Expectation Form, completing the background check and completing the protecting youth module, Protecting God’s Children.
