I have been a parish member of St. Gerard for most of my life. I attended St. Gerard School from first through tenth grades. When all the high schools were consolidated, I attended and graduated from Lima Central Catholic.
I attended college at Mount Saint Joseph College in Cincinnati, and graduated in 1966.
My teaching career includes 31 years in parochial school systems and 5 years in the Lima City Schools as a classroom teacher and as an art consultant.
In 1982, I was privileged to establish our preschool at St. Gerard as the first parochial preschool in Lima. I have worked with a lot of little ones in my career; and find this to be most fulfilling as I watch them grow and develop into some pretty wonderful young people. I now find myself teaching the children of my first preschool students.
After retiring from the preschool in 2005, I took on teaching the art in the primary building. Now I get to see the children along the way from preschool to middle school. I love it.
I cherish the years I have spent at St. Gerard; and expect to continue to do what I can to support my parish.
My husband, Joe, and I have one daughter, Jennifer, who also attended St. Gerard elementary. She has one daughter, who is currently attending St. Gerard School.
